Experience Repose by Berkshire Hospitality.

Loungewear designed to induce a state of rest. A heavenly collection of luxurious robes to pamper and indulge your guests - helping them unwind during their journey. With a modern and graceful aesthetic, Repose offers fresh silhouettes and tactile textures in tranquil colors.

Repose was born out of the desire to facilitate the very best customer experience. ‘What can we do to help our client’s guests wind down for restful sleep?’- our design team pondered. The National Sleep Foundation’s research revealed that restful sleep is often difficult for hotel guests, whether they are traveling with family for pleasure or on business, it can be hard to unwind in new surroundings despite the comfort of the guest room.

In the post pandemic world; guests are seeking more comforting amenities during their hotel stay, their focus is on wellness, and self care. Studies have shown that ultra soft robes and tactile materials enveloping the body, induce relaxation and lead to a sound night’s sleep. Our Repose collection of robes offer unparalleled buttery softness to aide relaxation the body needs to wind down.

Our robes are lightweight, yet lavish. Plush, without unnecessary bulk. Crafted with the softest textiles. Wrap your guests in the utmost comfort.

At Berkshire Hospitality, we don’t just love design, we love designing products that work. Ask any hospitality housekeeper; box spring covers are notoriously hard to fit. They either fit the box spring poorly, or are too cumbersome for housekeeping to apply, often needing a second set of hands; so we designed the ultimate Box Spring Cover - our 4-way stretch knit2fit™.

Manufactured in a poly/spandex blend in an elegant diamond knit pattern, knit2fit™ comes in all standard sizes, and dresses up any bed seamlessly in four simple steps. It will not budge, is easy care and commercially wash tested. knit2fit™ comes in 6 beautiful neutral shades and can be custom dyed to match any guest room decor. We love the clean lines of knit2fit™, and how polished it looks - your guests will love it too.

Lights, camera, Fashion! Tonight’s Met Gala was full of style, dedicated to the legendary fashion great Karl Lagerfeld (with even an appearance by Choupette!).  Samelson Chatelane picked our favorite looks from the Met Gala and paired them with our fabrics, for the ultimate style match up. Take a look at our highlights from the Met Gala 2023.

Is it the @csi.expo in Miami Beach last week that has us dreaming of aquatic tones? Take a look at some of Samelson Chatelane’s newest hues of blue.

Drum roll, please! Finally we can share the news of our recent install, a custom project with Holland America Line. We created a Delft Blue tile-inspired print, that we printed on our Zenith fabrication - a rich velvet with a super soft hand - which appears throughout the dining room, on a custom seating area and scatter pillows. Our creative design team adores getting to work on custom projects, and see the vision come to life!

Similar to the KLM Airlines complimentary gift of small ceramic replicas of historical houses, Holland America Line hands out ceramic Delft Blue tiles in various forms and shapes, as part of their Mariner Society Rewards Program. Their relationship with Royal Delft goes back a long way. Let’s look at the history of Royal Delft.

Royal Delft has been creating high-quality Delft Blue since 1653. This age-old craft is passed on from generation to generation and iconic masterpieces are still made entirely by hand in Delft. At the end of the 16th century that the first pottery was founded in Delft. Firstly, Dutch seamen caught several cargos containing Chinese porcelain and introduced them to the Dutch. Secondly, tradesmen with the Dutch East India Company brought back large quantities of porcelain from the Far East. This type of porcelain, which was decorated in blue on a white background, was very popular among the Dutch, and soon afterward Dutch potters started to imitate it, creating their own signature look.

Samelson Chatelane studied the characteristics of Royal Delft designs, and interpreted in a beautiful hand painted look with intricate flowers in blue on a crisp white background. We think you’ll agree the results are magnifiek (Dutch for magnificent)!

Samelson Chatelane are proud to have supplied textiles for the recent outfitting of Wind Spirit, part of Windstar Cruises. Their tagline says 180 degrees from ordinary, and we couldn’t agree more. The cruises are guaranteed to put the wind in your sails, and energize passengers.

Wind Spirit is a sleek, 4-masted sailing yacht accommodating 148 guests for a unique and exclusive experience for it’s guests. With four decks and a gross tonnage of 5,736, Wind Spirit feels like your own private yacht. Wind Spirit features wide open, teak decks—quite unusual for small ships.
Everything is high quality, and luxurious. With the smaller footprint, and scaled down passenger capacity - Wind Spirit is an exceptional and exclusive experience. Guests will find hidden nooks for private moments giving them a feeling of being on their own private veranda.

All staterooms have ocean views, queen beds. The Owner’s Suite includes a sitting area. Samelson Chatelane partnered with @aperture_contract on porthole/window coverings. We provided custom sheers, and printed stripes for an elegant and nautical view to enhance the stunning scenery seen by travelers who are ‘wind-spirited away’ to exotic locations by Windstar Cruises.

Swipe through for images of this incredible vessel. See you at the CSI Expo in Miami between June 6th-7th where we will be at Booth 417.

Haute Hotel Thursday!

Continuing our Palm Springs Destination series highlighting the best of resort style Hospitality - we are taking a look today at the Parker Palm Springs hotel & resort. The 144-room hotel has assumed many identities since it was constructed in 1959. Originally, it began as California's first Holiday Inn, later it served as spring training housing for the LA Angels baseball team, as well as Merv Griffin's Resort Hotel and Givenchy Spa.

50 years later, Jonathan Adler made his mark on the hotel's interior, helping put Palm Springs back on the map as the chic weekend getaway for the Beverly Hills set. Adler was brought back again in 2017—this time cranking up the Hollywood glam with his signature cheeky chic style.

“Look, we all need a face-lift,” says interior designer Jonathan Adler about his recent renovation. New features include an outdoor Lemonade Stand, complete with citrus striped awning and gorgeous poolside cabanas.

A little extra trivia: The Parker most recently played host to the new Netflix comedy “You People,” starring Julia Louis Dreyfus and Eddie Murphy during a rather awkward but comical weekend bachelorette party.

Destination: Palm Springs!

As we kick off Winter Break week with inclement weather across much of the USA, at Samelson Chatelane we are dreaming of sunny locations. How about some low humidity, sun drenched and palm tree adorned time in Palm Springs? We love the mid century modern vibe of Palm Desert, the Coachella Valley and the hip, retro feel of Palm Springs.

Wonder around vintage stores, looking for elusive Emilio Pucci pieces. Pick up some retro mid century tableware or vases. Most importantly, relax by the pool in chic outdoor loungers. Dine al fresco.

In the coming weeks we will be featuring our beautiful contemporary textile range: Fusion 20 Series: Inside Out. Hospitality fabrics that transform the face of textiles from the Inside Out. These fabrics can be used both in interior design or outdoor spaces, with durability and style.
